The Compliance & Quality Supervisor will report to the Compliance Manager. This position will supervise a small team of Quality and Laboratory Testing personnel, with the main focus of the position on supporting the Compliance Manager in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Sombra Quality program to ensure product compliance with internal specifications, ensure regulatory compliance with FDA cGMP standards, and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. The Compliance & Quality Supervisor will also investigate customer/vendor complaints, quality issues, and other issues as requested by the Compliance Manager.

As directed and in coordination with the Compliance Manager:

  • Coordinates the development, implementation, and revision of the Sombra’s Quality program to meet the needs of Sombra, customers, and FDA.
  • Processes regulatory accreditation, renewals, and organizational compliance.
  • Organizes, compiles, and reports Quality data for both the Lab and Production departments to identify trends, establish priorities, and recommend improvement.
  • Reports findings to other departments such as utilization review, contamination control, and risk management.
  • Develops and implements Quality standards and associated testing and evaluation processes.
  • Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Monitors production to provide Quality Control oversight.
  • Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff.
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MRPs, or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biology or related industrial, scientific, or business field experience required.
  • Eight to 10 years of related experience required with at least five years as a Quality, Compliance or similar role in an FDA regulated facility highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
