The Associate Chemist performs laboratory evaluations and help identify best solutions by reviewing and supporting the analytical needs for Sombra Cosmetics Inc. and our customers.

  • Support & perform data analysis for the
  • Research & Development laboratory for Sombra.
  • Perform laboratory-based experiments according to company protocols and standardized methodology.
  • Develop new R&D methods and procedures.
  • Perform data analysis.
  • Responsible for identifying the analytical challenges facing Sombra.
  • Provide technical solutions and implement them.
  • Work closely with other members of the Sombra lab team on issues relating to the development of products, support of existing technology, and the ongoing provisioning of technical expertise.
  • Develop laboratory methods and procedures that lead toward improved technology and application development.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction for Sombra Technology.
  • Observe and maintain safety requirements.
  • Develop new product formulations, write formulation methodology and document all steps.
  • Compound newly developed products and as needed.
  • Adhere to all Production policies, best practices, and safety guidelines.
  • Other assigned duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in with a science major (Chemistry preferred).
  • 2-5 years of analytical chemistry laboratory experience, specifically in chromatography.
  • Cleaner formulation and testing experience (preferred).
  • Strong skills using and interpreting analytical instruments, FTIR, particle sizing, rheometric, etc.
  • Must have analytical method development experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills that can be utilized in the daily work, be able to work independently, display initiative, and demonstrate a problem-solving approach.
